Medellín View

I've got a great view of Medellín from my tenth-story window. I can see from the posh suburbs in the south of the city to the slums covering the mountainsides to the north. On an evening with clear skies to the west, the sunset illuminates the tall buildings downtown.

It's interesting to watch the variety of traffic that rolls by on 73rd Avenue below my window... From the taxis, cars and mopeds to the horse-drawn carts carrying junk to be recycled and the pedal-powered ice cream trucks. At night, the soccer team's bus often passes by with blazing police escorts on the way to the stadium, just five blocks away. But most of the time it could pass for any nondescript street in a city of 3 million.
